Help & Support The issues here primarily dealing with trouble shooting a problem with installation or running the program. Pro-Q will not open and you get an "Access Violation" Error Message
This is caused by a file in the Pro-Q Designer or National Instruments Program File folders becoming corrupt. It can happen if your software update is damaged when downloading OR if you are running programs in the background when installing or updating. To fix this, uninstall BOTH Pro-Q Designer and National Instruments. Open C:\Program Files and delete both folders ONLY after finishing uninstall. You will then be able to reinstall the program and should no longer receive an error message.
Why can't I open some DXF files in Pro-Q Designer, and I can open others OR when I open the files they look "odd"?
Pro-Q Designer supports many types of DXF files. All DXF files are not created equal. They have changed over time to allow for more sophisticated drawing, 3-D options, etc. We originally only supported poly line. When Pro-Q was released we extended that to Spline Curves (NURBS). We are now working on support for 3 point arcs and fitted curves. If a DXF file is giving you problems, please e-mail it to ellen@munnichdesign.com. We will be happy to take a look at it and tell you why it won't open, if we can! If the file is a type Pro-Q advertises it supports, the DXF may provide use with an "exception" that we haven't thought of, and, we'll fix it!
