Pro-Q Designer V 1.58 Update -July 3rd, 2009 PLUS README for UPDATES AFTER 1.57e

THIS IS A MAJOR UPDATE that must be installed if you are using the features in the new Pro-Q Designer Cookbook. Previous versions do not have all the functions and/or may contain slightly different ways of working. This was a major overhaul of the program because many small problems were discovered and corrected. Most users would likely never have found these issues until they tried very advanced tasks. Most of the other improvements that were co-ordinated with the release of the Cookbook have been added over the last few releases.

NEW Properties Option on the right click menu will give you information on pattern (or selected point) size; minimum, maximum and average points per inch; number of points, and number of jumps (segments).
NEW Guideline "In Session Memory" lets you set the guidelines at the beginning of the session then turn them on and off - and they stay put!
NEW Mirror at Guideline function for quickly creating mirror images of passes.
CLIP features greatly improved with MANY small bugs squashed. Now VERY well behaved.
ECHO now offers blending of multiple objects.
NEW Clip Custom leaves all lines and breaks both the background and mask at every intersection to allow for easier generation of continuously sewn patterns.
NEW Double Tap "S" key to select whole segment in the editor.
NEW Fast access to Creating Patterns from the Popup Pass Menu.
MUCH improved AUTO Smoothing and Trimming.
Green dots (JUMPS) now ALWAYS display on main screen when jump tolerance is set to 0.
POP-UP Pass menu has been reorganized with commands grouped for functionality.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.57e Update -May 11th, 2009 PLUS README for UPDATE

This minor update from V1.57d includes the new flags: Open, Closed or Repeatable. It replaces the continuous/non-continuous flags that were sometimes misinterpreted.
NEW support for ABM AutoPilot.
NEW 3-point arc WRITING for Statler and DXF files.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST DOWNLOAD and read the readme file before using these features.
NEW Nudge feature: simply select the points and then click on the X or Y numerical control. If the little cursor is on one of the selected points then incrementing or decrementing the X or Y values will shift all of the selected points. If the little cursor is not on a hilighted point, only that point will be nudged.
Minor bugs which caused passes to disappear after Merging or Splitting has been corrected.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.56 Update -March 15th, 2009

NEW support for Homesteader SideSaddle.
NEW Merge Pass Wizard - Select your first pass and then use the toggle to select additional passes and ADD them. Once you have all your passes selected, click MERGE and they will all be added IN THE ORDER THEY WERE SELECTED into the first pass you selected.
NEW Split Merged Passes into individual patterns (must not have eliminated jumps).
Added two diagonal guidelines to assist in layout. (NOTE: can only be moved by clicking on the X on the line when the G key is depressed)
Fixes problem with CQ file format change which caused the last point of repeatable pattern was dropped when reading a file created by the DXF to CQP utility.
Adds measuring features (while Ctrl-D is pressed, just click to create an anchor then move the mouse to read the straight line distance PLUS x and y distance - previously only available in Layout Mode) to the Edit Screens.
Grid lines are now always SQUARE!
Jumps are no longer shown as lines in the small pattern selection display windows on the Add Patterns and Layout & Design Tab.
Edit mode allows you to toggle viewable jumps on or off. If on, jumps now display as a GREEN line.
NEW easier to save passes! Just select a pass and right click (Pass Mode only). You can choose your file format and then click again to save. Program automatically shows FILE & PRINT tab so you can confirm your settings before saving or cancel.
DOZENS of other little enhancements to make editing easier.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.53e Update - November 17th, 2008

Fixes VERY old bug with AutoSmooth that removed pauses.
Fixes errors that caused the minimize window option to not appear until EDIT was selected.
Fixes problem with MQR files where jumps between repeats were not eliminated when saving.
Fixes problem with CQ custom start points. NOTE: custom jumps/start points ARE NOT available if you choose repeatable as the pattern type.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.53 Update - October 20, 2008:

Fixes a minor problem with printing patterns full size experienced by some users.
NEW Measurement tool. Hold the D key down click the mouse to set a point and move it to see the distance and angle.
NEW automated support for Compuquilter CSP (Custom Start Points).
Fixed bug in pattern selection.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.5 Update - September 21, 2008:

NEW Rotate Pattern on the Pattern Mode Popup allows you to rotate part of a pass easier.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.41 Update - March 11, 2008:

IMPROVED - Support for LARGE, complex DXF files.
IMPROVED - Printing of non-copyrighted patterns full size in PRINT PREVIEW.
NEW Thumbnail printing - print full, custom catalogs of your patterns. Allows you to print All files, the type of files you have specified by the button filters, or only selected files. You choose how many patterns to put on a page, the title of the page, and whether you want to print landscape or portrait.
NEW - TRACE function (on the right click PASS menu) creates a rough outline of your pattern in a new pass. Great for creating a special "tracing" pattern for exact placement of your real pattern! Just specify the EXACT same courtesy jump or start point for best results.
NEW - FLIP-N-STITCH functions (on the right click PASS menu). No need to leave the main screen, just right click and flip and/or reverse stitching on any pass.
NEW - EDIT JUMPS features (in EDIT PASS or PATTERNS mode). SELECT any pattern segment and determine when it will sew compared to the other segments. ALSO, change the direction it sews.
NEW - EDITING FEATURES - You asked for it, you got it! This is a special right-click pop-up in EDIT mode. Use the "S" key to select any group of points then right-click to bring up the menu. You can Duplicate, Flip, Rotate, Magnify (enlarge or shrink), Delete, change sewing direction, etc. You can even send the selected points to the main screen as a new pattern!!!! This is a great way for you to do all sorts of things including splitting patterns for sewing larger than the throat depth of your sewing machine OR creating a corner from a border or motif.

Verion 1.5 Update - January 31, 2008

NEW - Support for READING and WRITING HandiQuilter Pro-Stitcher files. PLEASE NOTE - Pro-Q also creates an HQC file which contain the copyright info and notes for the pattern file. If you keep this file with your pattern, Pro-Q will look for it and display your comments on the screen with your pattern.
NEW - Support for reading DXF files exported out of Adobe Illustrator. IMPORTANT - items must not be grouped and identified as a PATH before exporting or they will be corrupt.
NEW - Reordering of jumps in non-continuous patterns (on the EDIT JUMP tab).
FIXED - Flashing images in the thumbnail browser.
MANY little improvements and features including faster display of thumbnails and screens.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.29 Update - January 7, 2008:

NEW - Support for reading DXF file in 3-point arc format added. Pro-Q also uses the SNAP macro for Statler DXF files. Segment numbering is NOT supported.
NEW - Quilt Sooner and Quilt Later button on the EDIT JUMPS tab allow you to reorder sewing of pattern segments in addition to being able to reverse sewing on them.
IMPROVED - Copyright info and notes in DXF files now display properly in Pro-Q.
IMPROVED - Copyright info is no longer added if current info is identical to what is contained in the files.
IMPROVED - REPEAT PASS now puts the new pass in a layout in relation to the LAST pass, not the one selected. This means you do not need to do complex calculations when doing patterns with alternating rows.
IMPROVED - Pattern Comments on the FILE & PRINT Tab are now associated ONLY with the selected pass instead of being globally applied to all passes in the layout. In the cases where you can select a default speed, the speeds are also associated with the specific pass rather than being global.
IMPROVED - Wizards - the Save All Passes Wizard now supports MQR script files and allows you to add comments between the passes so that you can script a whole quilt in one easy step.
IMPROVED - DXF export. Polyline DXFs exported from Pro-Q in Intelliquilter or Statler format can be opened and edited in Autosketch or other programs such as Corel.
NEW - WMF files can be automatically generated when saving in Compuquilter, Statler or DXF formats.
IMPROVED - Button to clear Compuquilter Index and Tag Fields.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.25c Update - November 16, 2007:

Versionitus is now fixed and all users should be able to update!
NEW - DXF files now display copyright info.
NEW - if copyright info is identical, Pro-Q will not put two versions in the file.
NEW - RESET button on Compuquilter Save Pattern tab to put Index back to "0.000" and Tag File back to "N/A".
IMPROVED - support for DXF files containing macros.
IMPROVED - now reads more varieties of "old" format Statler files (please send us any it won't read and that Precision Stitch will!).
