Download Updates - Updated March 11, 2008

IMPORTANT - ABOUT UPDATES: In addition to the update, we have posted a couple of new files. Please read the following carefully:

The UPDATE no longer includes the Labview Runtime Engine in an effort to keep the size of the download small. If you have not kept up with the updates, and install the current update, you may get a message to the effect that you need an update to the Labview Runtime Engine when you try to run the program.

The Labview Runtime Engine 8.5 is also available (just scroll down) and can be installed separately. You will need to reboot after you install it. If your current version is older than 1.25, you MIGHT need to install this.

Updated Help Files are not included in the UPDATE. They must be downloaded separately. I will post when there is an update to these. There will be one shortly - including some new video chips - to cover all the new features.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.41 Update - March 11, 2008:

  • IMPROVED - Support for LARGE, complex DXF files.
  • IMPROVED - Printing of non-copyrighted patterns full size in PRINT PREVIEW.
  • NEW Thumbnail printing  - print full, custom catalogs of your patterns.  Allows you to print All files, the type of files you have specified by the button filters, or only selected files. You choose how many patterns to put on a page, the title of the page, and whether you want to print landscape or portrait.
  • NEW - TRACE function (on the right click PASS menu) creates a rough outline of your pattern in a new pass. Great for creating a special "tracing" pattern for exact placement of your real pattern!  Just specify the EXACT same courtesy jump or start point for best results.
  • NEW - FLIP-N-STITCH functions (on the right click PASS menu).  No need to leave the main screen, just right click and flip and/or reverse stitching on any pass.
  • NEW - EDIT JUMPS features (in EDIT PASS or PATTERNS mode).  SELECT any pattern segment and determine when it will sew compared to the other segments.  ALSO, change the direction it sews.
  • NEW - EDITING FEATURES - You asked for it, you got it!  This is a special right-click pop-up in EDIT mode.  Use the "S" key to select any group of points then right-click to bring up the menu.  You can Duplicate, Flip, Rotate,  Magnify (enlarge or shrink), Delete, change sewing direction, etc.  You can even send the selected points to the main screen as a new pattern!!!!  This is a great way for you to do all sorts of things including splitting patterns for sewing larger than the throat depth of your sewing machine OR creating a corner from a border or motif.
  • IMPROVED speed of screen redraws

Pro-Q Designer V 1.41 FULL VERSION - March 11, 2008 - 47.5meg: Includes the Labview Runtime Engine.

Labview 8.5 Runtime Engine: If you get an error about your Labview Runtime being out of date, download and install this.

DONGLE DRIVER UPDATE - July 18, 2007: If you are having issues installing your dongle, download this update and double click to extract it. Follow the instructions during the extraction process to install the new driver.

DOCUMENTATION: The following three updates are in PDF format. If you wish to DOWNLOAD them, right click and choose "save target as" or the equivalent in your browser. If you left click, they will open in your browser.

  • PRIOR UPDATE HISTORY - opens new browser window with history.
  • Latest Version of the Quick Start Guide in PDF format - Please note that at this time there are no real corrections other than what was listed in the errata. This guide is not part of the help system. If you wish to be able to search the guide easily, it is a good idea to download it!
  • Hotkey Lists - This is a PDF of the two pop-up hotkey screens for ease of printing out. If you have ordered and received your copy of Pro-Q Designer, you should have received a copy of this printed on heavy stock.
  • Screen Diagrams - This is a PDF of the major screens that are labelled for your convenience. If you have ordered and received your copy of Pro-Q Designer, you should have received two sheets of heavy stock with these diagrams printed in full color on both sides of the page.

HELP UPDATE - July 26, 2007: No, the help system isn't quite finished yet, but this adds several new pages and a new video! Save this file to your desktop. It will automatically overwrite your existing Pro-Q Designer help files when you double click to install it. Click YES TO ALL when prompted for the overwrite.
