FILES TO YOUR COMPUTER AND INSTALL FROM THERE. ALWAYS TURN OFF YOUR
VIRUS CHECKER AND ANY PROGRAMS RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND WHEN
UPDATING OR INSTALLING!!!

IMPORTANT - ABOUT UPDATES: In addition to the update, we have posted a couple of new files. Please read the following carefully:

The UPDATE no longer includes the Labview Runtime Engine in an effort to keep the size of the download small. If you have not kept up with the updates, and install the current update, you may get a message to the effect that you need an update to the Labview Runtime Engine when you try to run the program.

The Labview Runtime Engine 8.5 is also available (just scroll down) and can be installed separately. You will need to reboot after you install it. If your current version is older than 1.25, you MIGHT need to install this. IF YOU ARE HAVING PRINTER ISSUES, DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THIS. Tell the program to REPAIR YOUR INSTALLATION when asked.

Updated Help Files are not included in the UPDATE. They are included in the full package OR can be downloaded separately.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.58 Update -July 3rd, 2009 PLUS README for UPDATES AFTER 1.57e

THIS IS A MAJOR UPDATE that must be installed if you are using the features in the new Pro-Q Designer Cookbook. Previous versions do not have all the functions and/or may contain slightly different ways of working. This was a major overhaul of the program because many small problems were discovered and corrected. Most users would likely never have found these issues until they tried very advanced tasks. Most of the other improvements that were co-ordinated with the release of the Cookbook have been added over the last few releases.

  • NEW Properties Option on the right click menu will give you information on pattern (or selected point) size; minimum, maximum and average points per inch; number of points, and number of jumps (segments).
  • NEW Guideline "In Session Memory" lets you set the guidelines at the beginning of the session then turn them on and off - and they stay put!
  • NEW Mirror at Guideline function for quickly creating mirror images of passes.
  • CLIP features greatly improved with MANY small bugs squashed. Now VERY well behaved.
  • ECHO now offers blending of multiple objects.
  • NEW Clip Custom leaves all lines and breaks both the background and mask at every intersection to allow for easier generation of continuously sewn patterns.
  • NEW Double Tap "S" key to select whole segment in the editor.
  • NEW Fast access to Creating Patterns from the Popup Pass Menu.
  • MUCH improved AUTO Smoothing and Trimming.
  • Green dots (JUMPS) now ALWAYS display on main screen when jump tolerance is set to 0.
  • POP-UP Pass menu has been reorganized with commands grouped for functionality.

Pro-Q Designer V 1.58 FULL VERSION - March 15th, 2009 - 54.5 meg: Includes the Labview Runtime Engine AND new help files. NOTE - This will extract the installer to C:\Pro-Q_Bonus\Install then run it. You can delete this folder after installation OR MANUALLY change where you want to put the installer.

Labview 8.5 Runtime Engine: If you get an error about your Labview Runtime being out of date, download and install this.

DONGLE DRIVERS - Download this program and run it to copy the new drivers to your C:\Pro-Q_Bonus\Drivers folder. There are two sets of drivers - one for 32 bit (XP and 32 bit Vista - which is the most common) and one for the new 64 bit version of Vista. FOR 64 BIT ONLY: You will need to unplug the dongle and run the USBinstaller.exe file found in the 64 bit folder. After it is installed, plug in the dongle. You will then need to tell windows what folder to look for the drivers in to proceed.

  • HELP SYSTEM - If your install is missing the help system, please download the run this update.

The following three updates are in PDF format. If you wish to DOWNLOAD them, right click and choose "save target as" or the equivalent in your browser. If you left click, they will open in your browser.

  • Latest Version of the Quick Start Guide in PDF format - Please note that at this is the NEW version of the guide for version 1.5. There are a number of minor changes throughout the guide.
  • Hotkey Lists - This is a PDF of the two pop-up hotkey screens for ease of printing out. If you have ordered and received your copy of Pro-Q Designer, you should have received a copy of this printed on heavy stock.
  • Screen Diagrams - This is a PDF of the major screens that are labelled for your convenience. If you have ordered and received your copy of Pro-Q Designer, you should have received two sheets of heavy stock with these diagrams printed in full color on both sides of the page. NOTE: The diagrams and lists have not been updated recently. They will be updated in late 2009 when we expect all the new features to be implemented as we are currently adding support for another system as well as some additional functionality.
